Coral Wild A Safari Guides Diary Celebrating The Lion On World Lion Day

World Lion Day The Safari Collection A "blog buddy" of mine, geogypsy has done a great posting on world lion day 2014 with lot's of interesting facts about the lion and the purpose of "today". rather than duplicate her research and posting i have given you the link to her blog below, it's well worth it!. Join us in celebrating world lion day and learn about the critical need for lion conservation for the future of these majestic creatures.

Coral Wild A Safari Guides Diary Celebrating The Lion On World Lion Day A safari guides diary the bush, wildlife and other ramblings wednesday, august 20. picture perfect. so often in the bush it is really difficult to get that "perfect" picture of an animal. so much so that one of my more frequent quips is "one would think that the animal is more interested in eating sleeping hiding than posing for us tourists!". There are both lion and spotted hyena in addo, but the black backed jackal is also commonly seen. On a cool, dark and drizzly day late in september i picked thomas & wendy up from the airport outside nelspruit. our first night in kruger was at bergendal in the south, so we descended down through the crocodile river gorge to enter at malelane gate. It's taken me a while to decide how to celebrate my 100th blog posting. first i thought to emulate a blog buddy of mine by publishing a selection from my photos that are numbered #100 (too restrictive & not many good ones).

Hyaena whoop, lion roar each starless dawning the graveyards of hwange. desolation, despair, death. lightning flashes, thunder grumbles wet earth scents the air the spring storms of hwange. resurrection, hope, life! puddles fresh in hollows green fuzz on bare slopes red butterfly shoots mopani spring in hwange!. Ahead of world lion day (on monday, august 10), the new big 5 project has released some stunning images of lions in the wild to celebrate the brilliant animal and highlight panthera’s. Lion country safari is hosting an event in honor of world lion day on 8 10 24, from 11:00am to 3:00pm to celebrate the park’s namesake species and raise awareness of the plight of lions in the wild. Unsurprisingly, world lion day falls on the 10th of august during leo season every year. what is surprising however is how unknown the plight of the lion is. there are around 23,000 african lions left in the wild which means they’re now officially classified as ‘vulnerable’.
