I've noticed some crawdads are really clean looking (and tasty). but i caught some out of a local stream lately, and noticed they were covered with little parasites. looked like tiny tube worms attatched to them. also, they just weren't clean looking like the ones from the other stream. First were the crayfish near bonneville dam, so loaded with toxins that scientists wondered how they could still be alive. then researchers learned columbia river fish were contaminated enough that nearby tribes face dramatically higher risks of disease. Crayfish (page 10 #5) that is a little confusing. the regulations is that you can capture a crayfish for use as live bait (if use of live bait is allowed in the waterbody you are fishing) but it can only be used in the waterbody that it came from.

Maybe its due to lack of harvest, but crayfish in the northwest are downright huge when compared to there souther cousins. fishtix, your location is shown as gresham, i've never looked for them. but i would assume the sandy has crawfish. concerning bioaccumilation, i believe crawfish do accumulate toxins.
