I expect that turning source mode on (checkmark visible in view drop down) causes me to see all markdown and turning source mode off (checkmark not visible in view drop down) causes me to see the live preview. Have you tried switching between toggle live preview source mode? i find that the live preview is the one that's making the cursor jump around everywhere. adding that command to the header with customizable page header buttons makes it easy access. If a note with a tasks block in has been opened in an obsidian pane and viewed in live preview, then even after other notes are later opened in the pane, for as long that pane is still open, the tasks will still get updated, when any tasks are edited.
