Engl& 101 english composition i 5 credits a general introduction to the principles of writing with emphasis on the writing process, thesis, context, purpose and audience. Engl 099 requires students to take two linked english composition courses: engl 099 (foundational studies) and engl 121 (college level) with the same instructor in a single term. engl 099 helps students acquire the writing skills necessary to successfully complete the engl 121 course. Prerequisite(s): placement test, act score of 18 or higher, or a grade of c or better in engl 099 or equivalent course. introductory course in writing including study of selected readings; emphasis on basic rhetorical methods. clep credit accepted.
