Since i use both solidworks and inventor on a regular basis, i though it might be helpful to present my experiences with both programs, in the hope it will allow individuals to make better decisions about using one or the other 3d modeling program. Solidworks favors the user experience, and inventor favors new features. inventor adds new features far more often. but they don’t polish their features overly much before releasing them. I have a good deal of experience with inventor (iv) and some with solidworks (swx) so i will add my comments to some of the items. i can say that there are some things in swx that i prefer over iv, but i prefer iv over swx as a whole.
