This project demonstrates an iot based patient monitoring system using arduino uno and esp8266 wi fi module to record heart rate and body temperature. it sends alerts via email sms through thingspeak and ifttt when readings exceed critical limits. Thingspeak is an open source internet of things (iot) application and api to store and retrieve data from things using the http protocol over the internet or via a local area network. this iot device could read the pulse rate and surrounding temperature and update them to an iot platform. In this study, a remote monitoring system is designed based on smartphones to perform real time monitoring and to provide primary analysis, diagnosis, and treatment (i.e., first aid) simultaneously.
