Autocad Arrow Linetype Bermori A linetype always need to start with a visible line, or dot if it's very short. if you don't define any visible line, autocad itself starts and ends with this, that's why i think you see the dots. If you use a shape which includes the line part of the arrow, then that shape is the linetype. when it goes round a curve, the line within the shape does not curve, and so the linetype shows as your image.

We have a style for ditch center lines, that consists of a line with an arrow or triangle (depending on existing or new) every so often. many years ago, (15 ), we had a macro or lisp routine that would create it for us. There are at least four unique linetypes their creators have graciously posted (see the text displayed in the light blue highlighted portion of the thread) that you can copy and add to autocad. I though that autocad 2008 already have arrow.shx, but after check, it none. so i create a shape arrow and compiled it into arrow.shx, add it in the support file search path as you mention, it work now.
