Pdf Incorporating Intercultural Communicative Competence In Language Teacher Education This study aims to explore the impact of critical thinking skills on the promotion of intercultural competence in language classrooms. participants in this study were 34 student teachers studying english language teaching. The first and second sections of the study aimed to provide detailed information about the context from teacher trainers’ perspective regarding their foreign language teaching objectives, beliefs about critical thinking and intercultural competence, and their actual classroom practices. In the context of second foreign language education, the concepts of intercultural communication and intercultural competence take on a particularly significant role. The aim of this publication is to assist teacher educators and language teachers in shifting the focus from linguistic competence to intercultural communicative competence.

The aim of this publication is to assist teacher educators and language teachers in shifting the focus from linguistic competence to intercultural communicative competence. Abstract the notion of intercultural competence, its explicitly and critically integration into education have received a considerable interest in recent years. the purpose of this study is to explore the impact of critical thinking skills both cognitive and dispositional dimension on the promotion of intercultural competence in language classrooms. in this sense, the key emphasis was put on. To further develop students’ and teachers’ critical intercultural competence, we suggested an instructional activity for experiential learning, which could be used both in authentic intercultural communication settings outside of korea and in efl classrooms within korea. This study aims to explore the impact of critical thinking skills on promotion of intercultural competence among student teachers of an english language teaching program. Among these skills, critical thinking – clear and rational thinking, might be a helpful way of approaching issues arising from intercultural communication and guiding learners in developing.
