2jz Single Turbo By Jamesdubai On Deviantart So i was wondering if its bets to start looking for a single turbo, and if so what will fit the factory manifold? if there isn't much anything at all that will bolt straight on, what's the next best upgrade turbo (without having to remapp the car if that's possible)?. Im doing a 1jz gte vvti swap in a fd. my fd came with dual oil coolers, and i replaced them with bigger ones. (inconel wrapped) front pipe (inconel wrapped koyo rad atm, pwr track single pass to be installed prl intercooler (thinking of switching to hks) 5w 30 oil plan to get wot undertray in the future will get retuned for e30 e50. It's been a while since i've gotten my hands back o it's time to bring it back. in today's video i give you guys an update on my big turbo 1jz swapped is300!. So i picked up an e34 with a stock 1jzgte engine conversion. cost was about $2k usd. see some pics below. these are not my pics, just the person who sold me the car. i will take some better ones soon. the total bill for the gt30 size single turbo setup and all related parts should be less than $1k usd. aiming for about 400whp on e85. The vvti 1jz is the lightest of the jz motors and also quite a bit shorter than the 2jz. the vvti and factory single turbo spool very fast (full torque at 2400 rpm) and get great gas millage. Build your ge engine and just put proper internals in it and gap the rings for boost, there is very little benefit of buying a gte especially as the stock turbos are rubbish compared to modern units. this guy ^ he gets it. i’d rather spend a touch more and know what’s going on in my block. There's the jzx100, jzx110 and jzs171. in my opinion the the jzs171 and jzx110 are easier to swap into the is300 than the jzx100. as for your budget, doing it the proper way is going to cost alot more than $2,500. the electrical part will make or break this swap.
