Villanova University Honors Program Linkedin The university honors program is an intellectual home for villanova’s academically gifted students. the program empowers its students to be seekers of truth, learning to relate critically and empathetically to their own traditions while exploring contemporary questions. Villanova’s honors program offers students a distinct and intellectually rigorous academic experience, the hallmark of which is the seminar learning model. all honors courses are taught as small seminars—normally limited to 16 students—that focus on student initiative in discussion, research and presentations.
Program Support Villanova University Students admitted to villanova university are considered for the honors program regardless of their application plan through the common application. there are no additional materials required for honors evaluation apart from a complete application for undergraduate admission. Honors at villanova is a comprehensive four year program of challenging seminars, research opportunities, service projects, and cultural and social events designed to bring together exceptional students and dedicated faculty. Each year, 10% of incoming college of liberal arts and sciences students are selected to the university’s honors program. ten honors courses (senior capstone required) are required to earn a liberal arts and sciences honors degree. at least three of the 10 must be upper level courses. Honors courses can fulfill core requirements and electives. all honors students are required to maintain a minimum 3.33 cumulative gpa to remain in the honors program and to earn an honors credential. there are different requirements to earn an honors degree for each college.
