This Weapons Vault R Dcss A scroll of immolation will tear through the initial vault guards, but you'll absolutely need as much fire resistance as possible. read the scroll on the guards (or other enemies) and start a chain reaction. While exploring dungeon, lair, vaults is somewhat exciting because of many randart artefacts and a bit of overenchanted weapons, later on there is a significant drop in quality and quantity of loot. i feel like the parts closer to the endgame have not been polished enough. Honestly i kind of liked it when monsters would pick up nice weapons and armor and use them. i still make stashes for organizational purposes. and sometimes i throw good weapons i won't use into lava just for fun :). Animated crystal plate and animated storm dragon scales, in translucent stone walls and by an armor shop. this particular shop's wares were lame even if i weren't an octopode, but with corrupt or overgrowth you could get at those armors if you wanted them. i'm guessing that they stay behind as armor like "dead" dancing weapons do.

In elf:2 there's a runed door vault called the hall of blades that has some cool weapons and enchant brand weapon scrolls. treat this like a branch end vault and carefully lure stuff out in small groups instead of running in and getting swarmed. If i land in a dangerous vault, i'll either read another tele or use explosive but quiet force. this tends to work pretty well, and i can generally stabilize to the point where enemies stop coming at me. The biggest factors for weapons at this stage are the weapon's enchantment and brand, and the weapon's attack delay. if you started with a weapon, you should probably use that weapon type over any plain ( 0, no brand) weapons you find on the floor. For weapons, armour, and jewellery, you will see the item's base type, but their specific properties are unknown. buying the item will identify it. for potions and scrolls, you will only see the item's descriptor (e.g. orange potion), unless you have already identified that item type.
