Conservation Evidence Site This blog post is a quick overview of what the conservation evidence team are working on. we’ve listed some of our recent and ongoing activities. please follow the links, or contact us, if you want to know more about any of our work. A synopsis of evidence lists all the possible actions you could take to conserve a given species group or habitat, or to tackle a particular conservation issue. for each action, it brings together the available scientific evidence with summary statements that are quick and easy to read.

Conservation Evidence Site We encourage articles from anywhere around the world on all aspects of species and habitat management such as habitat creation, habitat restoration, translocations, reintroductions, invasive species control, changing attitudes and education. Restoring ecosystems and biodiversity in a cost effective way is at the core of what we aim to do at mossy earth. an important part of how we seek to achieve this is by using and generating scientific evidence. we continuously make complex decisions on if and how to intervene in nature. We summarise evidence from the scientific literature about the effects of conservation actions. we produce synopses of evidence that review the effectiveness of all actions you could implement to conserve a given species group or habitat or to tackle a particular conservation issue. This is because it is difficult to give evidence based conservation advice that is appropriate for every context. instead, we provide evidence and an assessment of that evidence, which should be interpreted by conservationists who understand their own site and national or regional situation.

The conservation evidence project, based at the university of cambridge in the uk, has a simple yet ambitious aim; to list all the conservation interventions ever dreamed up around the world, and collect the evidence on how well they actually worked. So far, we have worked with over eleven hundred named collaborators from across the globe, to create the database and to help facilitate a change to more evidence based practice. practitioners, policy makers, academics and funders, all working together to improve conservation practice. “conservation evidence is a free, authoritative information resource designed to support decisions about how to maintain and restore global biodiversity. we summarise evidence from the scientific literature (studies) about the effects of conservation actions such as methods of habitat or species management. The conservation evidence toolkit has been created in collaboration with practitioners and decision makers to help embed evidence in conservation projects and deliver better outcomes for nature and people.
